New Mexico State “is suspending operations for the men’s basketball program until further notice,” the school announced in a news release Friday night.
The school said it was recently made aware of “new allegations… involving potential violations of university policy.” The team’s coaches have been placed on administrative leave while the allegations are investigated.
The Aggies’ game Saturday against California Baptist “will not be played,” the school said.

New Mexico State said the allegations are not connected to the shooting in Albuquerque last year that involved Aggies forward Mike Peake.
The Aggies are 9-15 this year and in last place in the Western Athletic Conference.
