Look: Josh Gordon Lands New Football Contract

Josh Gordon was once one of the NFL’s premier receivers. In 2013, he had a career year with the Cleveland Browns. Gordon caught 87 passes for a league-leading 1,646 yards en route to a spot on the All-Pro team and a Pro Bowl selection.

Unfortunately, Gordon’s career since that year has been marred by suspensions and off-field issues, but the former Baylor Bear is making another attempt at a comeback.

On Friday, it was announced that Gordon made the 51-man roster for the XFL’s Seattle Sea Dragons. The Sea Dragons are one of the charter member’s in the XFL’s relaunch, with play set to begin later this month.

Gordon isn’t the only former NFL player on the Sea Dragons. Former quarterback Ben DiNucci and defensive lineman Treyvon Hester also made the roster.

Other notable names around the XFL include wide receiver Martavis Bryant and edge rusher Vic Beasley, as well as punter Marquette King and quarterback Paxton Lynch.

The XFL is attempting to come back for a second time. The league initially relaunched in 2020, making it through a few weeks of the regular season before shutting down due to the pandemic.

Some players from that era of the XFL have been able to make a name for themselves in the NFL, most notably quarterback P.J. Walker.
