NFL world reacts to insane Russell Wilson news

This year, the NFL rolled out a new format to the Pro Bowl, featuring a weeklong skills competition and a flag football game in place of the traditional game that’s been played previously. The move was rather unpopular among fans and certainly didn’t draw high ratings. And it sounds like one NFL star is to blame for the suggestions: Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson.

On Wednesday afternoon, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell revealed that Russell Wilson was the one to suggest replacing the Pro Bowl with a flag football game and that he simply took his suggestion.

“Russell Wilson called Roger Goodell after last year’s Pro Bowl game and suggested the idea of making the Pro Bowl a flag football game, the commissioner said today. Goodell took Wilson’s suggestion,” Stevens said in a tweet.

It’s a pretty surprising update about the unpopular changes to the Pro Bowl, and naturally, the NFL world had plenty to say about it all as a result.

Even though the changes to the Pro Bowl might not have been well received throughout the NFL world, Goodell has made it clear that this format isn’t going anywhere and that the league will utilize it for years to come.
