Former Ohio State Player Is Transferring To Big Ten Rival

The Ohio State Buckeyes are among the nation’s elite college football programs. Along with Michigan, Ohio State is one of the premier members of the Big Ten conference.

One former Buckeye is taking his talents to another very successful Big Ten school.

Former Ohio State punter Michael O’Shaughnessy has committed to Michigan State.

The punter announced his commitment to the Spartans on Twitter, exclaiming that he was “Ready to get to work!”

O’Shaughnessy played 4 seasons with the Buckeyes, joining the Ohio State program in 2019. He made one punt last season against Rutgers, a 41-yard effort.

Michigan State has lost its last 7 meetings against Ohio State. The Spartans last defeated the Buckeyes in 2015, a 17-14 win in Columbus.

Ohio State was ranked 2nd in the nation at the time, while Michigan State was ranked 9th.

The Buckeyes lead the all-time series with the Spartans with a record of 36-15. Ohio State defeated Michigan State last season in East Lansing by a score of 49-20.

O’Shaughnessy will have a chance to face his former school next season. Michigan State travels to Columbus to take on the Buckeyes on Saturday, November 11.
