Rory McIlroy is feeling confident right now.
McIlroy was asked by a media member if he feels like he’s the best golfer in the world right now and he only needed one word to answer.
“Yes,” McIlroy said.
McIlroy is going to have every opportunity to prove that with a new PGA season underway. He’s set to take part in Phoenix Open starting on Thursday and his tee time will be at 9:48 a.m. local time.
He’s won each of his last two PGA Tour starts, one of which was last year’s season-ending Tour Championship. He also won Dubai Desert Classic back in January.
If he can win the Phoenix Open, he’ll be flying even higher as the first major of the season is coming up in April (The Masters).
2023 could be the year of Rory.
