With the Super Bowl just around the corner, former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick is being recognized for his outstanding work off the field.
It’s been roughly seven years since Kaepernick took a knee during the national anthem to protest police brutality. Fast forward to the present day, and he’s putting his words into action.
Alex Prewitt of Sports Illustrated detailed how Kaepernick is devoting time, money and care to fact-checking police killings. His initiative offers secondary autopsies to families who lost a loved one in police-related death cases.
The sports world is applauding Kaepernick for putting so much time and care into this subject.
“This is THE WORK. Kaepernick never ceases to amaze! Thank you, sir,” one person said in response to this news.
“Continually proud of this man,” another person wrote on Twitter. “Will always be in his corner, supporting his work.”
Kaepernick’s initiative has provided 42 autopsies tied to police-related or in-custody death cases. This spans over 15 states.
Kudos to Kaepernick for making such a significant impact in his post-football career.
