The Titans bolstered their coaching staff this week, hiring Lori Locust as a defensive assistant. It’s a historic hire for the organization.
Locust has become the first woman to join Tennessee’s staff in a full-time role.
As you’d expect, Locust is amped up for this opportunity in Nashville.
“Blessed to be joining the Titans as part of coach [Mike] Vrabel’s staff,” Locust wrote on Twitter. “Can’t wait to get started on this next phase of my coaching career.”
Locust has been coaching in the NFL since 2018. She started off as a defensive line coaching intern for the Ravens.
In 2019, Locust joined the Buccaneers as an assistant defensive line coach. That made her the first female position coach in the league and third female full-time assistant coach
Tampa Bay relieved Locust of her duties following the team’s playoff loss to Dallas this past January. Clearly, it didn’t take long for her to find a new home.
