Chiefs pass rusher Chris Jones is “under the weather” heading into this weekend’s Super Bowl matchup.
The Kansas City defensive lineman said he’s suffering a sore throat and congestion on Wednesday. It appears a few other Chiefs players are dealing with something similar, per NFL insider James Palmer.
Jones is a huge contributor for the Kansas City defense. He finished top 5 in regular-season sacks this past year with 15.5, and has added 2.0 more during the Chiefs’ ongoing postseason run.
The Chiefs will need all the help they can get while going up against the Philadelphia Eagles’ elite offensive line this weekend.
Jones and the other Kansas City players battling illness have four more days to recover before taking the field for this year’s Super Bowl contest in Arizona.
