Rob Gronkowski was surprised by Tom Brady’s recent retirement decision.
On Tuesday, the longtime friend/former teammate of Brady’s said he was “shocked a little bit” that the all-time great quarterback is not returning for another season in 2023.
Gronk, like Brady himself, believes that the 45-year-old quarterback still has some gas left in the tank. Earlier this week, Brady said he still feels he can still play at a high level, but decided that it’s time to walk away from the game he loves.
Brady famously rescinded his retirement decision after the 2021 season, but it appears this year’s decision is final.
Brady and Gronk will soon become teammates yet again as members of the Fox broadcast team. Earlier this week, Brady announced that he’ll begin his broadcasting duties in 2024.
