Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison does not have a position in Antonio Conte’s team right now, says journalist Dean Jones.
Spurs spent a lot of money on the Brazilian last summer, but he has not been able to make much of an impact in north London yet.
Tottenham news – Richarlison
One reason why Richarlison has not set the world alight this season is because of injury.
The 25-year-old missed Tottenham’s recent FA Cup win against Preston North End with what was described as a “small problem” but returned for their 1-0 victory versus Manchester City in the Premier League.
Even if Richarlison had managed to stay fit, though, it was always going to be difficult for him to break into Antonio Conte’s starting XI and make a real difference at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Prior to his arrival, Spurs already had Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski, while they have now added to that attack by bringing in Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal on loan.
What has Dean Jones said about Richarlison and Tottenham?
At this moment in time, Jones cannot see where Richarlison belongs in this Tottenham side.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, the transfer insider said: “I think that, ultimately, they’ve got to figure out where Richarlison fits into this Tottenham team. There’s no obvious position for him at the moment, and I think that’s going to be something that he needs to figure out as he tries to force his way in there.”

Can Richarlison cement a spot in Tottenham’s starting XI?
It seems like a very hard task due to the presence of Kane, Son and Kulusevski.
The second of that trio has not even been that impressive this season, scoring just four goals in 20 league appearances, as per Transfermarkt, but Conte has kept his faith in him.
Ultimately, when you look at how attached the Italian is to his current attack, it is hard to imagine Richarlison, who has not even registered in this top-flight campaign yet, becoming a regular.
Unless Kane or Son leave, you would expect Richarlison, who is earning £90,000 a week at Hotspur Way, according to Capology, to continue to have a bit-part role.
It is a long season, though, and injuries do happen. The Brazil international should get more opportunities before the end of the term and he has to take them.
To not have scored a Premier League goal by February is disappointing, but he still has plenty of time to improve his Tottenham record this season.
