The Super Bowl might be on Sunday, but Philadelphia Eagles star defensive end Brandon Graham found a new problem on Monda. The NFL fined Graham and several others for actions stemming from the NFC Championship Game.
NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero first reported details of the fine on Sunday. He noted that both San Francisco 49ers star Trent Williams and Philadelphia defensive back K’Von Wallace were also fined after they got into a fight during the game.
“Also, Eagles DE Brandon Graham was fined $13,261 for unsportsmanlike conduct in that game,” Pelissero tweeted.
Graham was not penalized during the game, for what it’s worth. But that did not stop the NFL from fining him.
Whether Graham appeals yet is yet to be seen. However, considering how this process usually goes, don’t expect the former Michigan Wolverines defensive end to go away quietly. Others have appealed for far less in the past. So Graham could well make a move back against the NFL with an appeal if the opportunity presents itself.
This season, Brandon Graham played terrifically for an Eagles defense that’s looking to make history. The Eagles have recorded a historic 70 sacks this season as a team. That’s the most in franchise history in a single season. Graham was responsible for 11 of them. Teammate and absolute sensation Haason Reddick recorded 16 of them.
