Call the Midwife viewers were left laughing after Nurse Trixie Franklin gave a young expectant mum some obvious words of advice.
During Sunday’s episode (February 5) of the BBC period drama, Trixie rushed to the aid of a teenager who had kept her pregnancy secret from her family. As the midwife banged on the door of the expectant’s mum Poplar home, a young man answered and pointed Trixie in the direction of Heather, who appeared to be in labor.
As Trixie examined the teenager, she explained the baby’s heartbeat was strong and offered a look of reassurance as Heather looked less than impressed and screamed in pain.

Trixie tells Heather: “Breath through it, breathe through iT. That’s it, nice big breaths, good girl Heather.”
She then added: “I’ll need to examine you down below because your baby will out through your undercarriage”, and the statement has left fans of the show very amused.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Love it Undercarriage! That’s a new one! @CallTheMidwife1 #CallTheMidwife.”
A second added: “Your baby will come out through your undercarriage.” Tastefully put, Trixie. #CalltheMidwife.”
A third jokingly said: “Undercarriage is the word of the week #CallTheMidwife.”
